Who doesn’t love a good vegetarian pie? As well as being classics of British cuisine, these little parcels of comfort food heaven are just the ticket for cold, wet evenings (something we’re not short of in this country). We take our pies very seriously at COOK, even making our shortcrust pastry from scratch, so whether you need some vegetarian mini pies or a fancy meat-free centrepiece, our chefs have done the hard work for you.
Our vegetarian meals have won loads of Great Taste Awards over the years, so the pressure was on for the two meat-free pies when we launched our Pies for One range in 2007. They proved to be an instant hit, with the vegetarian lentil pie going on to win a British Pie Award.
We’re currently perfecting some new recipes to add to the range, so on this page we’re including some “almost pies” from our vegetarian party food range. Below you’ll find tarts, tartlets, tarte tatins, quiches and more.
All of our healthy meals are prepared by hand from carefully sourced ingredients, so all the flavours packed into our pies are achieved by care, proper ingredients and good cooking – we don’t add any artificial flavourings to our meals. Whether you visit a COOK shop or another independent stockist, or you choose to have vegetarian pies delivered, they will come frozen, so you can keep them safely in the freezer until you need them. Please note that a couple of dishes will need defrosting overnight before you cook them, but the majority cook straight from frozen.
