Tell Me More

  • Coq au Vin really is a true French classic. Full of flavour (and wine) this is as French as an onion seller in a stripy shirt and a beret cycling past the Eiffel Tower humming La Marseillaise
  • The alcohol from the wine and brandy evaporates during cooking. So a glass of wine with dinner isn’t out of the question!
  • A great option if you have a lot of mouths to feed. Just defrost in the fridge overnight, add a splash of water to the pan, and stick it on the hob until piping hot

How We Make It At Our Kitchen

  • Chicken thighs and drumsticks are marinated overnight in red wine and brandy so not only are they beautifully tender, but also given some colour and infused with flavour
  • They are then roasted and braised in stock for 45 minutes. Bacon and onions are fried before being added to the velouté sauce, which is made from a red wine stock

Most of our food can be heated from frozen (sometimes in minutes in your microwave). Check the instructions below.

These cooking instructions are only a guide. Your appliance may have a personality of its own (or a different power rating). Please adjust accordingly.
