This dish clocks in at under a third of the Reference Intake (RI) for calories, sugar, salt, fat and saturated fat for an adult … and are made just like you would at home.

Depending on what and how much you serve with the dish, it may creep over a third of your RI. But that shouldn’t be an issue if it’s your main meal of the day.

  • British top rump beef, aged for at least 21 days, is braised for almost four hours, and about a glass of Merlot in every portion
  • Also available in 1, 2 and 4-portion sizes

Try it with:

  • Celeriac mash. Fry small cubes of celeriac in oil for 5 mins, then add thyme and rosemary, cover with water and simmer for 25 minutes until soft. Drain and mash
  • Some steamed asparagus spears, tenderstem or purple sprouting broccoli, kale or French beans all work wonderfully on the side
  • Or, try roasting some shallots in the oven with a dressing of balsamic vinegar, sea salt, demerara sugar and olive oil. 180 degrees for 15 minutes and they're ready

How We Make It At Our Kitchen

  • Top rump beef is braised for up to four hours in onions, garlic, rosemary, thyme, bay leaves and enough red wine to float a battleship (there's around a glass of French Merlot in each and every portion)
  • Then it's time for the smoked bacon, sauteed cup mushrooms and caramelised shallots

Feeding a Crowd Tips

This dish is perfect for entertaining large groups of friends and family this winter.

To serve 20: defrost 5 x 4 portions in the refrigerator overnight, decanter into a large heavy based pan and cook on the hob for around 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Ensure it is piping hot before serving.

Cooking Instructions

At our kitchen, we prepare food by hand using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. We then freeze our meals at -35°C so it tastes freshly made when you cook it at home (no nasty additives or preservatives required). Most of our food can be heated from frozen (sometimes in minutes in your microwave). Check the instructions below.

Allow to stand for 2 mins and stir well before serving. Make sure the food is piping hot.

Defrost Instructions:

Should this product defrost, keep refrigerated and eat within 48 hours. Follow the oven guidelines but cook for 35 minutes. TO COOK ON THE HOB, FROM DEFROST Decant into a large saucepan and simmer on the hob on a medium heat for 15-20 mins. Stir regularly to avoid it sticking or burning, and you can add a splash of water during cooking if the sauce becomes too thick. Ensure it’s all piping hot before serving.
