“We used your Community discount for a meal yesterday which worked brilliantly. Delicious meal … thank you.” - Susan
How It Works
There are a few criteria you’ll need to meet to be applicable for the Community Kitchen discount.
First of all, it must be one of the following types of event:
-
Building the community locally, like an over-60s lunch or a meal for those alone or facing food poverty.
-
Raising funds or awareness for a charitable cause, like a Macmillan Coffee Morning or The Big Lunch.
-
Brings people together with shared interests at no profit, like a book club, sports club or faith group.
-
Celebrates an occasion with their local community, like a street party.
-
Delivers non-commercial courses or training with charitable aims, like an Alpha course or an NA or AA meeting.
And these three things must apply:
-
At the event, you must be feeding at least 20 people.
-
You must be happy to share stories and pictures from your event.
-
You’ll have to collect the food from your local COOK shop.
To find out more, pop into your local COOK shop to discuss your event with the team. They will be happy to help you make it a success.
T&Cs: To get a Community Kitchen Card and use the discount at eligible events, you need to be a Friends & Family member – you can sign up in the shop for free if you’re not a member. Community Kitchen Cards are valid for one year and you can request a new one when it runs out, subject to the usual checks. The card doesn’t mean you’ll get the discount for any transaction, only those for eligible community events (the criteria for eligibility is listed on this page, above). The Community Kitchen Discount can’t be used in conjunction with any other discounts, vouchers or gift cards. Items purchased with the discount may not be sold on for a profit, unless it goes to a registered charity (and the profit must not exceed 30%, i.e. the discounted amount). Community Kitchen purchases are not eligible for Home Delivery and cannot be made online, only in-store and, in some shops, over the phone or on email (just ask your local shop). Orders are subject to available stock, and for orders over 50 portions and/or where more than 10 of the same item are being purchased, they must be made at least five working days prior to the collection date. You’ll also have to provide written confirmation you understand cooking times may vary when food is prepared in large batches, and accept responsibility for serving evenly-cooked and piping-hot food.
