  • This has been on the COOK menu for a while. Originally it was called Beef Diane but fashions change, so the name did, too. Whatever you call it, this is a really luxurious dish
  • The brandy is added into the sauce at the last minute so you can really taste it
  • The beef is really slow-cooked: braised for up to four hours until it’s deliciously tender

Try it with:

  • Beef and potatoes are a great combination, so Creamy Mash or roast potatoes are both good options, with some green veg on the side like our Cavolo Nero
  • Keep it simple and serve with rice
  • A more unusual, but extremely tasty, option is to stir it through tagliatelle or pappardelle to create a rich, smooth pasta dish

Feeding a Crowd Tips

This dish is perfect for entertaining large groups of friends and family this winter.

To serve 20: defrost 5 x 4 portions in the refrigerator overnight, decanter into a large heavy based pan and cook on the hob for around 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Ensure it is piping hot before serving.

How We Make It At Our Kitchen

  • We braise prime beef for up to four hours, then added to some roasted chestnut mushrooms
  • For the sauce, onions, garlic, white wine and stock are added to a roux. Then it’s finished with double cream and parsley
  • In goes the brandy, right at the end - this ensures the flavours don’t evaporate

Cooking Instructions

At our kitchen, we prepare food by hand using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home.
