Tell Me More

  • We braise the beef for up to 3 hours with spices to ensure it’s perfectly tender
  • This has some authentic Thai flavours and is a far cry from the kind of Thai curries you’ll find in a supermarket
  • Although it’s full of classic Thai flavours like lemongrass, fish sauce and ginger, this recipe doesn’t contain any coconut

Try It With

  • Because of its powerful flavours, it’s best with Jasmine rice. You could serve on a banana leaf, if you can find one!
  • It’s one for Thai aficionados, so great as part of a Thai buffet alongside some of our crowd-pleasing curries
  • For an innovative twist, put it in a wrap with some rice and fresh coriander for a sort of Thai burrito

How We Make It At Our Kitchen

We use a UK and Irish silverside beef – a terrific cut for Thai cooking – which we braise with star aniseed and cinnamon sticks for up to 3 hours. Then we used the braising liquor to make the sauce, with garlic that’s friend until a lovely brown colour, lots of tamarind paste, lime juice, ginger, lemongrass, and fish and soya sauce. Finally we add stir-fried red peppers, carrots, red onions and spring onions.

Cooking Instructions

At our kitchen, we prepare food by hand using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. We then freeze our meals at -35°C so it tastes freshly made when you cook it at home (no nasty additives or preservatives required). Most of our food can be heated from frozen (sometimes in minutes in your microwave). Check the instructions below.
