COOK opens in East Sheen
Posted on 3 May 2012
Our new shop in East Sheen opened last week, with Andrew Marr, TV presenter (and, so it transpires, object of COOK shop staff lust), among the first through the door.
We think it might just be our coolest shop yet. There’s a blackboard wall – illustrated by Emma, who did the gorgeous drawings for the Summer COOK Book – featuring apple crate shelves; there are lampshades made out of vintage colanders (“vintage” being the description you apply to anything second-hand that you want to charge a small fortune for); authentic, Indian lampshades hang above our Indian freezer; a montage of individual chef pictures lets you see who cooked your food; a big 'infographic'(created by an illustrator based near New York who does a lot of work for American newspapers) shows how our Kitchen works; and a big 'wordle' features the words some of our customers suggested to describe COOK in our 15th anniversary competition... and lots of other little touches!
