• The Cheddar comes from Barbers, a family-run business in the heart of the West Country, that has been making award-winning Cheddar using traditional methods since 1833 … longer than anyone else in the world.
We make that rich white sauce first from a roux (with a little paprika) slowly adding a little. Then in goes English mustard, lots of vintage Cheddar and a pinch of white pepper. The bacon is fried off in a pan until it is nice and crispy. The cheese sauce and bacon are stirred through the pasta and topped with our own garlic croutons.
AT COOK WE USE THE SAME INGREDIENTS YOU WOULD USE AT HOME.
We never put additives or preservatives into our food. We do occasionally use kitchen cupboard ingredients that include some additives in their sub-ingredients (for example Worcestershire Sauce used in our Spaghetti Bolognese, which contains Tamarind Extract).
