  • Osso Buco is an Italian recipe and the name literally translates as 'whole in the bone'(definitely sounds nicer in Italian).
  • Traditionally it's made with veal but we've used beef shin serving it with a a sauce of red wine, Port and shallots.
  • It has a delicious melt in the mouth texture due to the cut of meat and because we slow-cook it for 4 hours so the fat really renders down.

Cooking/Serving Instructions

OVEN COOK FROM FROZEN

Oven:

Preheat oven. Remove sleeve and pierce film. Place directly onto the middle shelf of the oven. Cook for 20 mins. Remove film and cook for a further 30 mins.

Oven Settings

Fan 180°C, Electric 200°C, Gas Mark 6.

Allow to stand for 2 mins then, using a serving spoon, gently remove the beef and the shallots from the tray. Stir the sauce well and spoon it over the meat before serving.

Defrost Instructions:

Should this product defrost, keep refrigerated and eat within 48 hrs. Follow the cooking guidelines and cook for 15 mins with the film on, before removing the film for the last 25 mins.
