How we make it:
The daal is made with a delicious mix of onion, turmeric, cumin, ginger, split yellow peas, cinnamon and tamarind. Then we add the cumin-roasted sweet potatoes, chickpeas, spring onions and nigella seeds. Towards the end of the cooking process, we stir in some natural yoghurt and lots of fresh mint.
Great with: Fresh yoghurt (stir in herbs and spices to make raita), or garnish with more fresh mint or chopped spring onion. Scoop up with some wholemeal chapatti or our own handstretched naan bread, warm from the oven.
