  • Coq au Vin really is a true French classic. Full of flavour (and wine) this is as French as an onion seller in a stripy shirt and a beret cycling past the Eiffel Tower humming La Marseillaise.
  • The alcohol from the wine and brandy evaporates during cooking. So a glass of wine with dinner isn’t out of the question!
  • A great option if you have a lot of mouths to feed. Just defrost in the fridge overnight, add a splash of water to the pan, and stick it on the hob until piping hot.

We never put additives or preservatives into our food. We do occasionally use kitchen cupboard ingredients that include some additives in their sub-ingredients (for example Worcestershire Sauce used in our Spaghetti Bolognese, which contains Tamarind Extract).

Red Wine [Sulphites] (27%), Chicken Thigh (24%), Chicken Drumstick (20%), Unsmoked Streaky Bacon (6%) (Pork, Water, Salt, Preservatives (Potassium Nitrate, Sodium Nitrite), Antioxidant (Sodium Ascorbate)), Onions, Mushrooms (4%), Silverskin Onions (3%), Water, Chicken Glace (Concentrated Broth From Chicken Meat (Water, Extract), Maltodextrin (Potato), Yeast Extract, Salt, Glucose And Onion Powder), Salted Butter [Milk], Cornflour, Brandy, Rapeseed Oil, Redcurrant Jelly (Sugar, Water, Redcurrant Juice Concentrate, Gelling Agent (Pectin), Dextrose), Garlic, Tomato Puree, Thyme, Bay Leaf, Black Pepper.

Cooking/Serving Instructions

Oven:

Preheat oven. Remove sleeve, pierce film lid. Place onto a baking tray in the middle of the oven. Remove film 15 mins before end of cooking.

Oven Settings

Fan 180°C, Electric 200°C, Gas Mark 6.
35 mins > remove film > 15 mins
Ensure piping hot. Allow to stand for 1 min and stir well before serving.

Microwave:

Remove sleeve, pierce film lid. Cook on full power.
850W
4 mins > stir gently & re-cover > 3 mins
Ensure piping hot. Allow to stand for 2 mins and stir well before serving.

Defrost Instructions:

Should this product defrost, keep refrigerated and eat within 48 hours. Follow the oven guidelines but cook for 20 mins, remove film and cook for a further 10 mins.

Extra Warnings:

This product contains bones. Steam may be released when removing film lid.

45 mins > remove film and stir > 20 mins
Ensure piping hot. Allow to stand for 3 minutes before serving.

Should this product defrost, keep refrigerated and eat within 48 hours. Follow the oven guidelines but cook for 30 mins, remove film and stir well before cooking for a further 15 mins.
