*this dish doesn't include pasta

  • A great versatile dish, not just a pasta sauce!
  • A traditional Italian recipe from Tuscany, where there are so many wild boars, there are no fewer than 10 festivals dedicated to them in villages and towns in the region
  • Rich and comforting, this makes for a perfect family meal in the autumn

Try it with:

  • Rustic bread and salad for a speedy supper.
  • Will be best friends with a baked potato
  • If you’re being traditional, serve with pappardelle pasta and garnish with a little parsley

How We Make It At Our Kitchen

  • We start by braising pieces of wild boar in red wine and stock for four hours
  • Then we sweat garlic, onion, celery and chestnut mushrooms before adding red wine and tomato. The sauce is finished with a splash of milk (a traditional Italian trick)
  • Finally it’s topped with a black olive, parsley and Regato cheese crumb

Cooking Instructions

At our kitchen, we prepare food by hand using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. We then freeze our meals at -35°C so it tastes freshly made when you cook it at home (no nasty additives or preservatives required). Most of our food can be heated from frozen (sometimes in minutes in your microwave). Check the instructions below.

These cooking instructions are only a guide. Your appliance may have a personality of its own (or a different power rating). Please adjust accordingly.
