Liz Dove has been our pudding maestro since the beginning of COOK, so there's not much she doesn't know about frozen puddings. These are her 3 golden rules:

  • Remove all packaging when frozen: Always take your pud out of its box and put it on your serving plate while it’s still frozen.
  • Serve at the correct temperature. Some puds are best served at room temperature, but pavlovas are best chilled. Always check the instructions on the packaging.
  • Slice with a hot knife. Dip your knife in hot water to get a lovely, smooth slice.

 

How We Make It At Our Kitchen

  • We whisk the egg whites and sugar in small batches to make sure the meringue stays light and fluffy with a slight crunch on top.
  • We add chocolate chips, before rolling with fresh cream and salted caramel sauce.
  • It’s finished with a dusting of cocoa powder.

We never put additives or preservatives into our food. We do occasionally use kitchen cupboard ingredients that include some additives in their sub-ingredients (for example Worcestershire Sauce used in our Spaghetti Bolognese, which contains Tamarind Extract). Caster Sugar, Whipping Cream (22%) [Milk], Free Range Pasteurised Egg White, Caramel (14%) [Milk, Soya & Sulphites], Dark Chocolate (12%) [Soya, Milk], Water, Vinegar [Sulphites], Cornflour, Vanilla Flavouring, Chocolate Powder [Soya & Milk], Salt.

Free Range Pasteurised Egg White contains Thickener: Guar Gum. Caramel contains: Partially Inverted Sugar Syrup, Glucose Syrup, Preservative: Sulphur Dioxide, Water, Sugar, Salted Butter, Sweetened Condensed Milk (Milk, Sugar), Modified Corn Starch, Salt, Gelling Agent: Pectin, Emulsifier: Soya lecithin, Preservative: Potassium Sorbate, Flavouring (Milk). Cooking Instructions

At our kitchen, we prepare food by hand using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. We then freeze our meals at -35°C so it tastes freshly made when you cook it at home (no nasty additives or preservatives required). Most of our food can be heated from frozen (sometimes in minutes in your microwave). Check the instructions below.

DEFROST TO SERVE

Defrost Instructions:

FOR BEST RESULTS DEFROST IN FRIDGE AND EAT AS SOON AS YOU CAN. SERVE CHILLED. 1. It is very important to remove the dessert from all packaging and place on a serving dish whilst it's still frozen. You'll find it much easier to handle. 2. Defrost for 11-12 hours in the fridge or 5-7 hours at room temperature. 3. Eat as soon as possible once thawed. In the unlikely event of there being any leftovers, keep in the fridge and eat within 48 hours.
