Marsh Samphire grows wild all around the British coastline, in marshy, tidal areas. It is a true sea vegetable, not a seaweed. Sadly, it is not available year-round from British sources, put once pickled it can be enjoyed whenever you fancy it. 

Pickled samphire has a lovely crunch and a salt/sharp/sweet flavour all of its own. It is a fabulous accompaniment to smoked fish. It also works well in small quantities with freshly steamed or pan-fried fish – and it helps bring out the best in seafood, especially crab. But try also thinking of it where you might use cornichons or gherkins. Pickled samphire is a really super partner for ham, salt beef, salami and all kinds of cured meats and patés. It’s also wonderful with cheddar.

- A great accompaniment to canapés and goes perfectly with our crackerbreads and pates.

- Serve a mix of hot and cold canapés: Prepare all the cold ones in advance.

Refrigerate after opening, use within 4 weeks.
