We are only taking online orders from people in “at risk” groups, those self-isolating and NHS workers. As of 2pm Friday, we have very limited delivery available next week from the following shop areas:
If you are not in one of these shop areas, we’re afraid we remain closed for orders for now. We hope to open up further slots next week. Our limited available slots are likely to fill up fast, so very many apologies in advance if you’re disappointed. You may also find a more limited range available for now. Please don’t contact our Customer Care team for further info on when ordering will re-open, as they are incredibly busy and only know as much as we’ve included here.
Thanks so much for your understanding during this challenging time.
In these difficult times for so many we are acutely aware that many people are relying on us at COOK. We want to assure you we are working flat-out to make as much food as we can and keep our freezers stocked, while always remembering the wellbeing of our teams is our top priority. We’re continuing to allocate some free meals in COOK shops for those most in need. So, if you have an elderly or infirm neighbour who you’re worried about, please mention it at the till in your local COOK shop and they will help you if you can. We’re also working out how best to get meals to NHS staff.
With things changing so fast, we’ll post the latest info here daily around mid-afternoon. We’ll also keep our social media channels updated and send out emails with important updates.
Here’s the latest on where we are with Covid-19 as of Thursday 26th March.
No orders being taken for now, sorry
Given the huge volume of orders we’ve received for coming days, we’re not taking orders for the time being, as we want to make sure we can fulfil what’s already in the system. Our kitchens, shops and stockists remain open and are doing all they can to serve their local communities. We’re going to keep ordering switched off for the next few days and when we re-open we’ll be seeking to prioritise orders for the elderly, vulnerable and key workers.
Fulfilling existing orders
We are doing our very best to fulfil all existing orders. If we run short of some dishes, our apologies in advance. If we can simply make up portions sizes, we will (eg 2x meal for one rather than 1x meal for two). If a recipe isn’t available we will refund you rather than substitute something.
Home deliveries for those self-isolating
Please let us know if you’re self-isolating and receiving a home delivery so we can leave your food somewhere safe.
Our shops are open and doing everything they can to serve our local communities. We will only be taking card and contactless payments, no cash. If you’re planning to visit, please consider if you can also shop for elderly or vulnerable neighbours or for those self-isolating – we have some free meals allocated for those in need, please ask at the till.
Keeping to a safe distance
Most of our shops are “snug” so we’ll be limiting the number of customers inside at any one time, depending on the size of store. If you’re waiting outside, please bear with us and keep 2m apart from others in the queue. Inside, we’ll be as eager to help you as always while keeping to the guidance on physical distancing and remaining 2m away.
Reduced opening hours
To help our shops teams, from Tuesday 24th March our standard opening hours will be from 9:30 to 4:30 Monday-to-Saturday and 10:30 to 3:30 on Sunday. All our shops are doing their best to stay open to their advertised hours but may have to close unexpectedly due to changes in circumstances. Please check your local shop page online for the latest.
Work for temporary and casual staff
To keep our kitchens, warehouses, home delivery service and shops running we’re likely to be in need of temporary and casual staff in coming weeks. If you can help, please email email@example.com
Getting in touch
Please bear with us if it takes longer than usual to get through by phone or to get a response through other channels – unsurprisingly, things are busy. Please find our contact details here.
Above all, let’s keep looking out for each other during this difficult time.
