Avian Flu Update
Posted on 15 November 2022
You’ve probably seen the headlines about the worst avian flu outbreak ever and its impact on Christmas turkeys, in particular.
We're relieved to say COOK turkeys have not been affected.
Because we roll, stuff and tie our turkeys by hand before freezing - a time-consuming task - we start early. Our birds could therefore roam freely in East Anglian woodlands over the summer, long before the bird flu outbreak hit.
Given the potential shortage this year, we strongly recommend ordering early, as we only have limited stock. And please spare a thought for the poor farmers, for some of whom this will be truly devastating.
