Try it with:

  • A meal in itself, so there’s no need to add anything if you want to keep it hassle-free
  • If you’re entertaining, dress it up with a good sprinkling of parsley or coriander, a few fresh pomegranate seeds and some chopped pistachio nuts
  • Or, for a real Persian supper, make a refreshing Shirazi salad by finally chopping cucumber, tomato and onion and dress with lemon juice. Then serve with flatbread

How We Make It At Our Kitchen

  • Whole, skin-on chicken breasts are marinated in Persian spices and roasted in the oven
  • Cumin, coriander, cardamom and some orange zest are added to caramelised garlic and onion, along with add lamb stock, which is reduced then sweetened with a spoonful of honey
  • Finally, basmati rice is folded into the sauce along with some julienne carrot, flaked almond and pomegranate seeds

Ingredients

AT COOK WE USE THE SAME INGREDIENTS YOU WOULD USE AT HOME.

We never put additives or preservatives into our food. We do occasionally use kitchen cupboard ingredients that include some additives in their sub-ingredients (for example Worcestershire Sauce used in our Spaghetti Bolognese, which contains Tamarind Extract).

Chicken Breast (24%), Onions, Cooked Rice (17%), Water, Chickpeas, Orange Juice, Honey, Garlic, Lamb Glace [Celery], Carrots (2%), Vegetable Glace [Celery], Flaked Almonds [Nuts], Rapeseed Oil, Gluten Free Flour Blend, Raisins, Pomegranate Seeds, Coriander, Orange Peel, Ground Coriander, Salt, Ground Cumin, Cardamom, Garam Masala, Cinnamon, Cloves.

Lamb Glace contains: Concentrated Broth from Lamb, Maltodextrin, Yeast Extract, Salt, Glucose, Vegetable Concentrates (Onion, Carrot, Celery, Leek, Garlic), Emulsifier (Mono- and Diglycerdies of Fatty Acids) Mixed Herb & Spice Oils (Nutmeg, Laurel, Tarragon, Rosemary, Pepper, Thyme). Vegetable Glace contains: Partially Rehydrated Vegetables (Onion, Carrot Concentrate, Leek & Celery), Yeast Extract, Salt, Sugar, Turmeric, Parsley. Garam Masala contains: Ground Coriander, Ground Cumin, Ground Fine Black Pepper, Ground Cinnamon, Ground Ginger, Broken Star Aniseed, Ground Green Cardamom, Ground Pimento, Ground Black Cardamom, Ground Bay Leaves, Ground Cloves, Ground Nutmeg. Cooking/Serving Instructions

These cooking instructions are only a guide. Your appliance may have a personality of its own (or a different power rating). Please adjust accordingly.

OVEN COOK FROM FROZEN

Oven:

Preheat oven. Pierce film lid, place on a baking tray and cook in the centre of the oven. 10 mins before the end of cooking, remove the film lid.

Oven Settings

Fan 170°C, Electric 190°C, Gas Mark 5.
45 mins > remove film > 10 mins
Allow to rest for 2 mins. To serve: remove the chicken breast (careful, it will be hot) and give the rest of the dish a good stir. Then spoon onto a plate and finally replace the chicken back on top.

Defrost Instructions:

Should this product defrost, keep refrigerated and eat within 48 hours. Follow the oven guidelines but cook for 20 mins, remove film, 10 mins.

Extra Warnings:

Although every care has been taken to remove all bones, some may remain. Steam may be released when removing film lid.
