How We Make It

Tabbouleh is a classic Lebanese bulgur wheat salad, and is eaten all across the Mediterranean. To make our tabbouleh, we mix bulgur wheat with lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and salt and pepper, along with a traditional Lebanese spice - sumac. Sumac is a spice that is widely used in Middle Eastern cuisine to add a lemony taste to salads and meat. We then mix in traditional vegetables including roasted red peppers, semi-dried tomatoes and lots of parsley and coriander to add freshness and colour to the salad. We garnish the tabbouleh with pine nuts to add texture to the salad.

Ingredients

AT COOK WE USE THE SAME INGREDIENTS YOU WOULD USE AT HOME.

We never put additives or preservatives into our food. We do occasionally use kitchen cupboard ingredients that include some additives in their sub-ingredients (for example Worcestershire Sauce used in our Spaghetti Bolognese, which contains Tamarind Extract).

Cooked Bulgur Wheat (51%), Red Peppers (17%), Oven Roasted Cherry Semi Dried Tomatoes in Oil (7%), Olive Oil Blend, Parsley (5%), Lemon Juice (5%), Coriander (4%), Pine Kernals (2%), Mint, Garlic, Salt, Sumac, Black Pepper.

Oven Roasted Cherry Semi Dried Tomatoes in Oil contain: Cherry Semi Dried Tomatoes, Sunflower Oil, Salt, Garlic, Oregano, Preservative: Lactic Acid. Olive Oil Blend contains: Pomace Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil. Cooked Bulgur Wheat contains: Water, Bulgur.

Defrost Instructions:

Defrost in the refrigerator for 36 hours. Once defrosted, stir well before serving. Keep refrigerated and eat within 48 hours.
