How To Make It

Everyone loves this Spanish classic. Ours blends traditional flavours and wonderful ingredients to give you a true taste of the Mediterranean.

We make a base for the rice in this dish by sweating onions and garlic until they are soft and sweet, then adding white wine, sherry, chopped tomatoes, lemon juice and smoked paprika, which gives it its signature flavour. Chicken stock with turmeric and smoked paprika then coats the rice.

We use slow-roasted sliced chicken thighs, king prawns and diced chorizo in our Paella, which is then garnished with sliced red peppers, peas and lots of parsley.

Ingredients

AT COOK WE USE THE SAME INGREDIENTS YOU WOULD USE AT HOME.

We never put additives or preservatives into our food. We do occasionally use kitchen cupboard ingredients that include some additives in their sub-ingredients (for example Worcestershire Sauce used in our Spaghetti Bolognese, which contains Tamarind Extract). Cooked Ribe Long Grain Rice (30%), Water, Chicken Thigh (12%), Chorizo (9%) [Milk, Soya], Onions, King Prawns (5%) [Crustaceans], White Wine [Sulphites], Chopped Tomatoes, Sherry (2%) [Sulphites], Red Peppers (2%), Chicken Stock, Peas (2%), Rapeseed Oil, Garlic, Gluten Free Flour, Lemon Juice, Salt, Smoked Paprika, Turmeric, Parsley.

Roast Chicken Stock contains: Roast Chicken, Maltodextrin, Salt, Natural Flavouring, Chicken Fat, Sugar, Lemon Juice (from concentrate), Onion Powder. Chorizo contains: Pork, Curing Salt (Potassium Nitrate, Sodium Nitrite), Sea Salt, Hungarian Paprika, Smoked Paprika, Water, Dextrose, Garlic, Starter Culture. Gluten Free Flour contains: Flour blend [Rice, Potato, Tapioca, Maize & Buckwheat]. Made in our kitchen in Kent using ingredients of varied origin.

Cooking Instructions

At our kitchen, we prepare food by hand using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. We then freeze our meals at -35°C so it tastes freshly made when you cook it at home (no nasty additives or preservatives required). Most of our food can be heated from frozen (sometimes in minutes in your microwave). Check the instructions below.

These cooking instructions are only a guide. Your appliance may have a personality of its own (or a different power rating). Please adjust accordingly.

SERVES 1

Microwave:

Remove sleeve & pierce film lid. Cook on full power.
850W
4 mins > stir gently & re-cover > 3 mins
Stir well before serving.

Defrost Instructions:

Defrost the paella overnight in the fridge before cooking. Once defrosted, keep refrigerated and cook within 48 hours. Empty the paella into a pan and cook over a medium heat for 3-5 mins, stirring occasionally. Ensure the prawns are pink in colour and fully cooked. Ensure piping hot before serving. Once cooked, do not reheat.

Extra Warnings:

Steam may be released when removing lid. Although every care has been taken to remove all bones and shell, some may remain.
